   Montale knows how to compose, and Black Musk (2010) is proof. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Musk with Leather, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Musk and Leather feel carefully balanced. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
