   I have owned Carioca for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Violet with Lily-of-the-Valley comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot with Freesia peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   Everyone keeps talking about Carioca, so I finally gave it a proper test. Give it a little time and Violet with Lily-of-the-Valley comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Musk and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I picked up Carioca (2015) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Bergamot/Freesia impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and Violet with Lily-of-the-Valley comes forward — smooth and well done. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Carioca. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Freesia, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Lily-of-the-Valley, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I’ve been wearing Carioca on and off for a few weeks now (2015). The drydown leans on Musk plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Bergamot and Freesia — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A friend passed me a decant of Carioca (2015) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Freesia, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Musk and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I would happily buy a full bottle.
