   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Decas. That first spray gives a lovely Calabrian Mandarin/Tuberose impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Benzoin and Opoponax feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   A decant of Decas sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Calabrian Mandarin and Tuberose — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Resin and Bourbon Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A friend passed me a decant of Decas (2021) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Calabrian Mandarin with a hint of Tuberose — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Calabrian Mandarin with Tuberose peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Benzoin with Opoponax, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   My first XerJoff experience was this one, Decas (2021). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Benzoin with Opoponax, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Calabrian Mandarin alongside Tuberose, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
