   A friend passed me a decant of Dirty Rice (2022) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Almond alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Musk plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Dirty Rice. The very first sniff is crisp Almond with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Almond alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I’ve been wearing Dirty Rice on and off for a few weeks now (2022). The base rests on Musk and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Almond and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   For a 2022 release, Dirty Rice deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Musk and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Almond alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   My first Borntostandout experience was this one, Dirty Rice (2022). Give it a little time and Rice Basmati with Milk comes forward — smooth and well done. That first spray gives a lovely Almond/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I wanted to like it more than I did.
