   A couple of wears in, Etra has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Cardamom/Brazilian Rosewood impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Cardamom and Brazilian Rosewood — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   My first Etro experience was this one, Etra (1999). The heart is the best part for me: Paprika and Sandalwood feel carefully balanced. Right away I get mostly Cardamom alongside Brazilian Rosewood, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   For a 1999 release, Etra deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Paprika with Sandalwood, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Brazilian Rosewood peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Etra after reading the community buzz (1999). The base rests on Vanilla and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Cardamom and Brazilian Rosewood — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Right away I get mostly Cardamom alongside Brazilian Rosewood, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

That first spray gives a lovely Cardamom/Brazilian Rosewood impression that dries down smoothly. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
