   I have owned Father Figure for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Orris Root, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Fig/Water Lily impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Orris Root, which is where the fragrance really shines. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I picked up Father Figure (2023) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Iris with Orris Root comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Musk and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Father Figure (2023) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Iris with Orris Root comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Fig alongside Water Lily, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The first minutes are all about Fig with a hint of Water Lily — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Everyone keeps talking about Father Figure, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Iris and Orris Root feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Iris with Orris Root comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
