   I picked up Flash Back (2013) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Granny Smith apple with Pink Pepper comes forward — smooth and well done. That first spray gives a lovely Rhubarb/Grapefruit impression that dries down smoothly. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Olfactive Studio knows how to compose, and Flash Back (2013) is proof. The drydown leans on Vetiver plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Vetiver and Cedar come through and give it real depth. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2013 release, Flash Back deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Vetiver plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Rhubarb and Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Olfactive Studio knows how to compose, and Flash Back (2013) is proof. The heart is the best part for me: Granny Smith apple and Pink Pepper feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Vetiver and Cedar come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Flash Back. The first minutes are all about Rhubarb with a hint of Grapefruit — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Rhubarb alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The base rests on Vetiver and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
