   Everyone keeps talking about Into the Blue, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Green Grass alongside Green Leaves, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Watermelon with Blue Lotus, which is where the fragrance really shines. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Escada knows how to compose, and Into the Blue (2006) is proof. That first spray gives a lovely Green Grass/Green Leaves impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Green Grass alongside Green Leaves, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Into the Blue (2006) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Watermelon and Blue Lotus feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Musk and Cedar come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I’ve been wearing Into the Blue on and off for a few weeks now (2006). The opening is built around Green Grass and Green Leaves — bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Green Grass with Green Leaves peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
