   A friend passed me a decant of Joyful (2014) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The base rests on Honey and Moss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Honey and Moss come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   For a 2014 release, Joyful deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Peony with Magnolia, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Melon with Black Currant peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   For a 2014 release, Joyful deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Peony and Magnolia feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Honey plus Moss and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
