A couple of wears in, Layton Exclusif has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Almond with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Laotian oud and Guaiac Wood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

For a 2017 release, Layton Exclusif deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Civet with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. The first minutes are all about Almond with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

My first Parfums de Marly experience was this one, Layton Exclusif (2017). The very first sniff is crisp Almond with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Almond alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Layton Exclusif. The very first sniff is crisp Almond with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Almond/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I keep reaching for Layton Exclusif more than I expected to. The drydown leans on Laotian oud plus Guaiac Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Almond and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Picked up a sample of Layton Exclusif after reading the community buzz (2017). The first minutes are all about Almond with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Almond and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

I’ve been wearing Layton Exclusif on and off for a few weeks now (2017). The base rests on Laotian oud and Guaiac Wood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Laotian oud and Guaiac Wood come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

For a 2017 release, Layton Exclusif deserves more attention than it gets. The base rests on Laotian oud and Guaiac Wood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Almond and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Layton Exclusif. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Civet with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Civet and Geranium feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
