   My first Montale experience was this one, Lucky Candy (2023). The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot with Honey peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Musk plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I have owned Lucky Candy for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Musk and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Frangipani with Marshmallow, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2023 release, Lucky Candy deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Honey, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Honey — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Lucky Candy (2023) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Honey — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Frangipani with Marshmallow comes forward — smooth and well done. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

That first spray gives a lovely Bergamot/Honey impression that dries down smoothly. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
