   A decant of Midnight Oud sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Damask Rose with Saffron peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Damask Rose with a hint of Saffron — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   For a 2009 release, Midnight Oud deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Agarwood (Oud) and Moroccan Rose feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around Damask Rose and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Midnight Oud (2009) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Give it a little time and Agarwood (Oud) with Moroccan Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Damask Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Midnight Oud after reading the community buzz (2009). That first spray gives a lovely Damask Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Damask Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A couple of wears in, Midnight Oud has really grown on me. The base rests on Patchouli and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Damask Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   My first Juliette Has A Gun experience was this one, Midnight Oud (2009). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Agarwood (Oud) with Moroccan Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Patchouli and Musk come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
