   Lalique knows how to compose, and Perles de (2006) is proof. The heart is the best part for me: Pepper and Iris feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Patchouli and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

The first minutes are all about Rose — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   For a 2006 release, Perles de deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pepper with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Patchouli and Oakmoss come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned Perles de for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. That first spray gives a lovely Rose impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Rose — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I would happily buy a full bottle.
