   A friend passed me a decant of Vaniglia e Zenzero del Madagascar and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Ginger alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Vaniglia e Zenzero del Madagascar mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Ginger alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Palisander Rosewood and Ylang-Ylang feel carefully balanced. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   As far as recent releases go, Vaniglia e Zenzero del Madagascar deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Ginger and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   My first Tesori d’Oriente experience was this one, Vaniglia e Zenzero del Madagascar. That first spray gives a lovely Ginger/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Everyone keeps talking about Vaniglia e Zenzero del Madagascar, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Ginger with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Ginger/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

Give it a little time and Palisander Rosewood with Ylang-Ylang comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
