For a 2001 release, Yria deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Coriander with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Coriander/Mandarin Orange impression that dries down smoothly. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Everyone keeps talking about Yria, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Amber plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

A decant of Yria sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Coriander with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I keep reaching for Yria more than I expected to. Right away I get mostly Coriander alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Coriander with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I keep reaching for Yria more than I expected to. As it settles, Amber and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

I picked up Yria (2001) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Amber and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

Yves Rocher knows how to compose, and Yria (2001) is proof. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Coriander alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
