   A decant of Guerlain Chant d’Aromes sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The base rests on Vetiver and Heliotrope — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Honeysuckle with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   For a 1962 release, Guerlain Chant d’Aromes deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Citruses — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Aldehydes/Citruses impression that dries down smoothly. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Guerlain Chant d’Aromes (1962) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Citruses — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Honeysuckle with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
