   For a 1997 release, 212 deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Musk plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Orange Blossom alongside Cactus Flower, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I have owned 212 for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Lily with Freesia comes forward — smooth and well done. The first minutes are all about Orange Blossom with a hint of Cactus Flower — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The very first sniff is crisp Orange Blossom with Cactus Flower peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   A friend passed me a decant of 212 (1997) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lily with Freesia, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Lily and Freesia feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

    I keep reaching for 212 more than I expected to. As it settles, Musk and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lily with Freesia, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting.
