A decant of Marc Jacobs sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Gardenia/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. The first minutes are all about Gardenia with a hint of Bergamot β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

My first Marc Jacobs experience was this one, Marc Jacobs (2001). Right away I get mostly Gardenia alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

A friend passed me a decant of Marc Jacobs (2001) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Ginger and Cedar come through and give it real depth. Give it a little time and Tuberose with Jasmine comes forward β€” smooth and well done. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

A friend passed me a decant of Marc Jacobs (2001) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Gardenia alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

My first Marc Jacobs experience was this one, Marc Jacobs (2001). The first minutes are all about Gardenia with a hint of Bergamot β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. As it settles, Ginger and Cedar come through and give it real depth. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Marc Jacobs knows how to compose, and Marc Jacobs (2001) is proof. The opening is built around Gardenia and Bergamot β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Ginger plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise β€” beautiful from start to finish.

Picked up a sample of Marc Jacobs after reading the community buzz (2001). The opening is built around Gardenia and Bergamot β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Ginger and Cedar β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Marc Jacobs. The very first sniff is crisp Gardenia with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Tuberose with Jasmine comes forward β€” smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I keep reaching for Marc Jacobs more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Gardenia with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

I have owned Marc Jacobs for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Gardenia and Bergamot β€” bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I would happily buy a full bottle.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.
