   For a 2006 release, Florence deserves more attention than it gets. The opening is built around Pear and Apple — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Apple, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A couple of wears in, Florence has really grown on me. The base rests on Musk and White Woods — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Gardenia with Tuberose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Florence. The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Apple — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Musk plus White Woods and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Apple — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. The composition is well made but not for me.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Gardenia with Tuberose, which is where the fragrance really shines. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
