   I have owned 1697 for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Vanille and Tonka Bean — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Dried Fruits with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Frapin knows how to compose, and 1697 (2011) is proof. The opening is built around Rum and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. As it settles, Vanille and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I have owned 1697 for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Rum alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Dried Fruits with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Picked up a sample of 1697 after reading the community buzz (2011). The opening is built around Rum and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Rum with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
