   Afnan knows how to compose, and Modest Deux (2019) is proof. That first spray gives a lovely Raspberry/Dark Chocolate impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Patchouli and Musk come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Modest Deux (2019) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Raspberry with a hint of Dark Chocolate — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Raspberry with Dark Chocolate peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A decant of Modest Deux sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. As it settles, Patchouli and Musk come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Raspberry alongside Dark Chocolate, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Modest Deux. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Patchouli and Musk come through and give it real depth. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A couple of wears in, Modest Deux has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Vanilla with Spices comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Patchouli and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.
