I picked up Café Rose (2012) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely May Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly May Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

Tom Ford knows how to compose, and Café Rose (2012) is proof. The base rests on Patchouli and Incense — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Give it a little time and Turkish Rose with Bulgarian Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

A friend passed me a decant of Café Rose (2012) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Turkish Rose and Bulgarian Rose feel carefully balanced. That first spray gives a lovely May Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

A friend passed me a decant of Café Rose (2012) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Patchouli and Incense come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Incense and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

A couple of wears in, Café Rose has really grown on me. The very first sniff is crisp May Rose with Saffron peeking through, very much my kind of start. I’ve been wearing Café Rose on and off for a few weeks now (2012). The heart is the best part for me: Turkish Rose and Bulgarian Rose feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Turkish Rose with Bulgarian Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

For a 2012 release, Café Rose deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Incense and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly May Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

A couple of wears in, Café Rose has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Turkish Rose with Bulgarian Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Turkish Rose with Bulgarian Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Café Rose. As it settles, Patchouli and Incense come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly May Rose alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Picked up a sample of Café Rose after reading the community buzz (2012). That first spray gives a lovely May Rose/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. The base rests on Patchouli and Incense — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

I have owned Café Rose for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The heart is the best part for me: Turkish Rose and Bulgarian Rose feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around May Rose and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I would happily buy a full bottle.
