   For a 2015 release, Aoud Vanille deserves more attention than it gets. The opening is built around Agarwood (Oud) and Saffron — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Madagascar Vanilla plus Guaiac Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Picked up a sample of Aoud Vanille after reading the community buzz (2015). The drydown leans on Madagascar Vanilla plus Guaiac Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. That first spray gives a lovely Agarwood (Oud)/Saffron impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I keep reaching for Aoud Vanille more than I expected to. As it settles, Madagascar Vanilla and Guaiac Wood come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Agarwood (Oud) with Saffron peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I’ve been wearing Aoud Vanille on and off for a few weeks now (2015). The first minutes are all about Agarwood (Oud) with a hint of Saffron — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Agarwood (Oud) alongside Saffron, fresh and very easy to wear. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Floral Notes, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
