   Everyone keeps talking about White Patchouli, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and Rose feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Woody Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A friend passed me a decant of White Patchouli (2008) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Patchouli and Woody Notes come through and give it real depth. The first minutes are all about White Flowers with a hint of Coriander — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   My first Tom Ford experience was this one, White Patchouli (2008). The heart is the best part for me: Ambrette (Musk Mallow) and Rose feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Ambrette (Musk Mallow) with Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Woody Notes and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
