   I picked up Rose Noir (2008) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Grapefruit with Freesia peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Damask Rose with Raspberry comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 2008 release, Rose Noir deserves more attention than it gets. The base rests on Moss and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Grapefruit and Freesia — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   My first Byredo experience was this one, Rose Noir (2008). The heart is the best part for me: Damask Rose and Raspberry feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Freesia — it grabs attention without being pushy. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   For a 2008 release, Rose Noir deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Grapefruit alongside Freesia, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Freesia — it grabs attention without being pushy. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

Give it a little time and Damask Rose with Raspberry comes forward — smooth and well done. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
