   A couple of wears in, Calyx has really grown on me. The base rests on Oakmoss and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. That first spray gives a lovely Passionfruit/Guava impression that dries down smoothly. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A couple of wears in, Calyx has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Lily-of-the-Valley and Melon feel carefully balanced. Right away I get mostly Passionfruit alongside Guava, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

As it settles, Oakmoss and Musk come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A couple of wears in, Calyx has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Lily-of-the-Valley with Melon comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Passionfruit with Guava peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Give it a little time and Lily-of-the-Valley with Melon comes forward — smooth and well done. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The heart is the best part for me: Lily-of-the-Valley and Melon feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

    For a 1987 release, Calyx deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Passionfruit alongside Guava, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
