   My first Alexander McQueen experience was this one, Kingdom (2003). The opening is built around Neroli and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Celery Seeds with Rhubarb, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I keep reaching for Kingdom more than I expected to. The base rests on Musk and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Musk plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Celery Seeds with Rhubarb, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
