   A decant of Icon sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Black Pepper with Lavender comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Neroli with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   Picked up a sample of Icon after reading the community buzz (2015). The first minutes are all about Neroli with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Vetiver and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   My first Alfred Dunhill experience was this one, Icon (2015). The drydown leans on Vetiver plus Oakmoss and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Give it a little time and Black Pepper with Lavender comes forward — smooth and well done. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

The heart is the best part for me: Black Pepper and Lavender feel carefully balanced. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
