   A couple of wears in, Beloved Man has really grown on me. The opening is built around elemi and Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. The heart is the best part for me: Saffron and Orris Root feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I keep reaching for Beloved Man more than I expected to. The base rests on Cedar and Leather — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Cedar and Leather come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   My first Amouage experience was this one, Beloved Man (2013). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Saffron with Orris Root, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Saffron and Orris Root feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   A friend passed me a decant of Beloved Man (2013) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around elemi and Grapefruit — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly elemi alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The base rests on Cedar and Leather — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Right away I get mostly elemi alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

The base rests on Cedar and Leather — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
