   A friend passed me a decant of Interlude 53 (2020) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Oregano with a hint of Pimento — it grabs attention without being pushy. Give it a little time and Incense with Amber comes forward — smooth and well done. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Interlude 53 (2020) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Oregano/Pimento impression that dries down smoothly. The first minutes are all about Oregano with a hint of Pimento — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Interlude 53. Right away I get mostly Oregano alongside Pimento, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Smoke and Agarwood (Oud) — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A decant of Interlude 53 sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Right away I get mostly Oregano alongside Pimento, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Incense with Amber comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

The drydown leans on Smoke plus Agarwood (Oud) and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The very first sniff is crisp Oregano with Pimento peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Interlude 53 for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The heart is the best part for me: Incense and Amber feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Smoke plus Agarwood (Oud) and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

The composition is well made but not for me.
