   Everyone keeps talking about Lineage, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Sichuan Pepper alongside Ginger, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Olibanum with Myrrh comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Amouage knows how to compose, and Lineage (2023) is proof. The first minutes are all about Sichuan Pepper with a hint of Ginger — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Sichuan Pepper and Ginger — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A decant of Lineage sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Olibanum and Myrrh feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Olibanum plus Myrrh and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

That first spray gives a lovely Sichuan Pepper/Ginger impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A couple of wears in, Lineage has really grown on me. As it settles, Olibanum and Myrrh come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Olibanum plus Myrrh and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A decant of Lineage sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Olibanum with Myrrh, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Sichuan Pepper with Ginger peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

That first spray gives a lovely Sichuan Pepper/Ginger impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
