   For a 1995 release, Ubar deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Black Amber plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Tangerine with Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   For a 1995 release, Ubar deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Tangerine and Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The first minutes are all about Tangerine with a hint of Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Ubar (1995) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Black Amber and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Ylang-Ylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
