   Ariana Grande knows how to compose, and Moonlight (2017) is proof. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Black Currant — it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: Marshmallow and Peony feel carefully balanced. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A couple of wears in, Moonlight has really grown on me. The opening is built around Plum and Black Currant — bright and immediately recognizable. Give it a little time and Marshmallow with Peony comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Everyone keeps talking about Moonlight, so I finally gave it a proper test. The base rests on Vanilla and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A decant of Moonlight sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The opening is built around Plum and Black Currant — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Black Currant, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Moonlight (2017) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Plum/Black Currant impression that dries down smoothly. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Marshmallow with Peony, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
