   I picked up Oud Save The Queen (2013) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Tonka Bean and Agarwood (Oud) — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Tonka Bean and Agarwood (Oud) come through and give it real depth. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Oud Save The Queen, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Tonka Bean and Agarwood (Oud) come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   Atkinsons knows how to compose, and Oud Save The Queen (2013) is proof. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Earl Grey Tea with Clove peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I’ve been wearing Oud Save The Queen on and off for a few weeks now (2013). The first minutes are all about Earl Grey Tea with a hint of Clove — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Earl Grey Tea with Clove peeking through, very much my kind of start. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
