   I’ve been wearing Far Away on and off for a few weeks now (1994). The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Jasmine with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A decant of Far Away sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Coconut with Ylang-Ylang peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Vanilla and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   For a 1994 release, Far Away deserves more attention than it gets. The opening is built around Coconut and Ylang-Ylang — bright and immediately recognizable. Give it a little time and Jasmine with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

The opening is built around Coconut and Ylang-Ylang — bright and immediately recognizable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

As it settles, Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

    Avon knows how to compose, and Far Away (1994) is proof. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Coconut and Ylang-Ylang — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. The composition is well made but not for me.
