   I picked up Rare Gold (1995) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Ylang-Ylang with a hint of Peach — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Peach, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, Rare Gold has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Amber plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Peach, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Rare Gold (1995) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Aldehydes feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Amber plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Rare Gold. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Peach peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Aldehydes, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
