   I keep reaching for Gris Charnel Extrait more than I expected to. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Bourbon Vetiver, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Iris with Bourbon Vetiver comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I keep reaching for Gris Charnel Extrait more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Fig peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Sandalwood and Madagascar Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

The heart is the best part for me: Iris and Bourbon Vetiver feel carefully balanced. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I’ve been wearing Gris Charnel Extrait on and off for a few weeks now (2022). As it settles, Sandalwood and Madagascar Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The base rests on Sandalwood and Madagascar Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I have owned Gris Charnel Extrait for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Cardamom and Fig — bright and immediately recognizable. Give it a little time and Iris with Bourbon Vetiver comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
