   My first bdk Parfums experience was this one, Tabac Rose (2020). Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Tobacco and Indonesian Patchouli Leaf — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A friend passed me a decant of Tabac Rose (2020) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Plum/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   For a 2020 release, Tabac Rose deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Tobacco plus Indonesian Patchouli Leaf and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned Tabac Rose for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Plum and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Plum with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
