   Boadicea the Victorious knows how to compose, and Valiant (2013) is proof. The first minutes are all about Ylang-Ylang with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I keep reaching for Valiant more than I expected to. As it settles, Vanilla and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Ylang-Ylang and Mandarin Orange — bright and immediately recognizable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   My first Boadicea the Victorious experience was this one, Valiant (2013). The first minutes are all about Ylang-Ylang with a hint of Mandarin Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I picked up Valiant (2013) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Mandarin Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Mandarin Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
