   A couple of wears in, Chinatown has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Tuberose with Gardenia comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Peach Blossom alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   Everyone keeps talking about Chinatown, so I finally gave it a proper test. The base rests on Cardamom and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Peach Blossom and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Chinatown for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Gardenia feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Cardamom and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   Everyone keeps talking about Chinatown, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tuberose with Gardenia, which is where the fragrance really shines. The very first sniff is crisp Peach Blossom with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I have owned Chinatown for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Cardamom and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Gardenia feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I picked up Chinatown (2005) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Cardamom and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Cardamom plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

That first spray gives a lovely Peach Blossom/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
