   I have owned Brut for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Coumarin and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The opening is built around Lavender and Anise — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Everyone keeps talking about Brut, so I finally gave it a proper test. Give it a little time and Ylang-Ylang with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Anise impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Brut (1964) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Lavender alongside Anise, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Ylang-Ylang with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Brut after reading the community buzz (1964). Give it a little time and Ylang-Ylang with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Ylang-Ylang with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A decant of Brut sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Anise peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Ylang-Ylang with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I would happily buy a full bottle.
