   Everyone keeps talking about Black, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Leather and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Green Tea/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Bvlgari knows how to compose, and Black (1998) is proof. Right away I get mostly Green Tea alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Green Tea with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I have owned Black for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The very first sniff is crisp Green Tea with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Sandalwood with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   I picked up Black (1998) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Leather and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Green Tea with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

The heart is the best part for me: Sandalwood and Cedar feel carefully balanced. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

    Picked up a sample of Black after reading the community buzz (1998). The drydown leans on Leather plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sandalwood with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
