   A decant of Byredo sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Orris Root feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around Gin and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A couple of wears in, Byredo has really grown on me. As it settles, Balsam Fir and Oakmoss come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Gin alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Everyone keeps talking about Byredo, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Gin and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. As it settles, Balsam Fir and Oakmoss come through and give it real depth. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   For a 2016 release, Byredo deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Gin alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Balsam Fir and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up Byredo (2016) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Violet with Orris Root comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Orris Root feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
