   For a 2023 release, Rouge Chaotique deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Saffron alongside Cassis, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Saffron with Cassis peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A decant of Rouge Chaotique sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Plum and Praline feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Agarwood (Oud) and Papyrus — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Everyone keeps talking about Rouge Chaotique, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Plum and Praline feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Saffron with a hint of Cassis — it grabs attention without being pushy. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I picked up Rouge Chaotique (2023) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Saffron/Cassis impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Saffron and Cassis — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I have owned Rouge Chaotique for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Saffron with a hint of Cassis — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Agarwood (Oud) plus Papyrus and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
