   My first Cacharel experience was this one, LouLou (1987). The heart is the best part for me: Ylang-Ylang and Heliotrope feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Chinese Cinnamon Wood — it grabs attention without being pushy. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I’ve been wearing LouLou on and off for a few weeks now (1987). Right away I get mostly Plum alongside Chinese Cinnamon Wood, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Plum with a hint of Chinese Cinnamon Wood — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up LouLou (1987) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Ylang-Ylang with Heliotrope comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Ylang-Ylang with Heliotrope, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

As it settles, Incense and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
