   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Obsession Night. Right away I get mostly White Flowers alongside Bitter Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Cashmere Wood and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

Give it a little time and Gardenia with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A friend passed me a decant of Obsession Night (2005) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly White Flowers alongside Bitter Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Gardenia and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A decant of Obsession Night sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp White Flowers with Bitter Orange peeking through, very much my kind of start. Give it a little time and Gardenia with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I have owned Obsession Night for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Gardenia with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely White Flowers/Bitter Orange impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   My first Calvin Klein experience was this one, Obsession Night (2005). The base rests on Cashmere Wood and Vanilla — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The first minutes are all about White Flowers with a hint of Bitter Orange — it grabs attention without being pushy. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   For a 2005 release, Obsession Night deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly White Flowers alongside Bitter Orange, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely White Flowers/Bitter Orange impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
