   A couple of wears in, Chic For Men has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pepper with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Watermelon alongside Cardamom, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I keep reaching for Chic For Men more than I expected to. The heart is the best part for me: Pepper and Cinnamon feel carefully balanced. That first spray gives a lovely Watermelon/Cardamom impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Everyone keeps talking about Chic For Men, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Watermelon alongside Cardamom, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Chic For Men (2003) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pepper with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Carolina Herrera experience was this one, Chic For Men (2003). Right away I get mostly Watermelon alongside Cardamom, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Watermelon/Cardamom impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   For a 2003 release, Chic For Men deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Pepper with Cinnamon comes forward — smooth and well done. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Pepper with Cinnamon, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A decant of Chic For Men sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The drydown leans on Sandalwood plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
