   My first Carthusia experience was this one, A’mmare (2021). The drydown leans on Musk plus Cedar and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Rosemary alongside Salt, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   Everyone keeps talking about A’mmare, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Water Notes with Mint, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Water Notes and Mint feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Picked up a sample of A’mmare after reading the community buzz (2021). As it settles, Musk and Cedar come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Rosemary with Salt peeking through, very much my kind of start. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   A couple of wears in, A’mmare has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Water Notes with Mint comes forward — smooth and well done. The first minutes are all about Rosemary with a hint of Salt — it grabs attention without being pushy. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   Carthusia knows how to compose, and A’mmare (2021) is proof. The base rests on Musk and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Rosemary with Salt peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
