Everyone keeps talking about Coco Noir, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Bergamot β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

A couple of wears in, Coco Noir has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Grapefruit/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Picked up a sample of Coco Noir after reading the community buzz (2012). The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Grapefruit and Bergamot β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I would happily buy a full bottle.

A decant of Coco Noir sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. As it settles, Patchouli and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I wanted to like it more than I did.

For a 2012 release, Coco Noir deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Patchouli and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The opening is built around Grapefruit and Bergamot β€” bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough β€” it carries well without shouting. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

A couple of wears in, Coco Noir has really grown on me. The opening is built around Grapefruit and Bergamot β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Patchouli plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I wanted to like it more than I did.

A friend passed me a decant of Coco Noir (2012) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. That first spray gives a lovely Grapefruit/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

A couple of wears in, Coco Noir has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Geranium feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Grapefruit with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

That first spray gives a lovely Grapefruit/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

A decant of Coco Noir sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Rose with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. The base rests on Patchouli and Sandalwood β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

A friend passed me a decant of Coco Noir (2012) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Grapefruit alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Bergamot β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
