   Picked up a sample of Gardénia after reading the community buzz (1925). The drydown leans on Coconut plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Orange Blossom alongside Green Notes, fresh and very easy to wear. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A friend passed me a decant of Gardénia (1925) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Gardenia and Tuberose feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Gardenia with Tuberose comes forward — smooth and well done. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   My first Chanel experience was this one, Gardénia (1925). The very first sniff is crisp Orange Blossom with Green Notes peeking through, very much my kind of start. The opening is built around Orange Blossom and Green Notes — bright and immediately recognizable. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I wanted to like it more than I did.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
